05-20-2009 - Participated in two public meetings that are part of the Knowledge Corridor Passenger Rail Study. Springfield Republican - Hearing Explores Expanding Vermonter Amtrak Service 
05-15-2009 - Participated in New England Regional Rail Coalition (NERRC) meeting.
 
04-16-2009 - General Meeting.

04-01-2009 - Participated in community discussion with State Rep. Benjamin Swan (Springfield) about the Governor's gas tax proposal. He voiced support for the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield (NHHS) Commuter Rail Line project.
 
As a partner in the New England Regional Rail Coalition (NERRC), PVACR:
  • 03-30-2009 - Signed on to coalition letter urging federal stimulus funding for rail projects in New England, including NHHS and the Knowledge Corridor Passenger Rail line, and issued local press release.
  • 03-20-2009 - Signed on to letter authored by NERRC and PVACR coalition partner, Transportation for America, urging support for proposed national CLEAN-TEA legislation (Clean Low-Emission Affordable New Transportation Efficiency Act). The proposal would direct money raised through global warming legislation to clean transportation investments - like public transportation and passenger rail, affordable neighborhoods around transit stops, and neighborhood improvements that increase safety for cyclists and pedestrians.
03-21-2009Attended National Association of Rail Passengers (NARP) regional conference in New London, CT.
03-05-2009 – Participated in WNPR – Connecticut Public Radio’s program: “Where We Live: Reality of the Rail - New Haven to Springfield” 
 
03-04-2009 – Volunteers testified in support of commuter rail during the Joint Committee on Transportation hearing on the Governor’s Transportation and Economic Security Plan. 
 
03-04-2009 – Issued media advisory and attended meeting where the Pioneer Valley Metropolitan Planning Organization voted to apply for $25 million dollars from the President's Federal Stimulus plan to restore the original line thru Northampton and re-align the region's rail system.    
 
03-03-2009 – Participated in meeting with MA Secretary of Transportation James Aloisi. Spoke in support of commuter rail and asked about Administration’s support for regional rail projects in the Pioneer Valley.
